Not so temporary!

Hey folks!  Happy Friday!  Aren't you simply pumped for the weekend?  And the fact that it's supposed to be in the 60s?!?  I sure am.

So big news around here is Harper and Sophie's bunkbeds are all set up!  And they're in them!  And fell asleep without making a peep!  And every creak I hear my heart races, half expecting Harper to fall to the ground from the *gulp* top bunk!  Yes, I know, it might be reckless of us to let her sleep up there, considering she's only 3.  But...what can I say.   She LOVED seeing her trademark blue hat hanging on the post.  Josh assessed all four of our kids' abilities/desires to go up and then down the ladder:  "Harper's a pro, Sophie's more timid on the way down, Ali's a scaredy-cat and Tay won't go near the thing".  Accurate assessment.  ;)

Okay...drum roll please....BIGGER news around here...after many years of talking about it, Josh finally did it.  He got a tattoo!!  It's on his right forearm, it's the first initials of our four daughters (A, H, S, T...can you see them?), and Josh loves it.  I, because I'm just a little more animated, LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOVE it.  Here's a pic~

Our kids are funny about it.  Particularly Ali.  "Does Dad still have his tattoo?  Is it with him at work?"  It's not quite equivalent to their Toy Story temporary tattoos.

Less important and crazy-annoying, I bought a frame from Target tonight and there's a blemishy scratch on the glass. UGH. I guess I have high expectations for brand new products. Like, you know, be intact. Dumb.

Okay folks, I'm out.  Enjoy the sunshine this weekend!

Reunited and it feels so GOOD!

Well well well, look what the cat dragged in...  Wouldn't you know it, I'm FINALLY back to this blog!  I offer no apologies, however, because as you know, life is busy.  Your life, my life, the lives of my muffs.  I take any chance I can to keep you updated on the musings 'o me and some come more often than others!

So a couple weekends ago, Josh and I went on a Couples Retreat in Ashland, WI that was put on by our church, Duluth Gospel Tabernacle.  We had an AWESOME time hanging out with each other and the other couples who went.  We were blessed with some super "workshops", too.  And, of course, it was nice to be kid-free!  We sure did miss those girlies, though.  My mom stayed with them, with help from my sister, too.  It was my girls' debut viewing of The Wizard of Oz.  They're hooked.  I think Sophie thinks Dorothy is a real person.  As we were putting the kids to bed a couple nights ago, Sophie looks thoughtfully at me and asked, "Does Dorothy go to school?  I wonder what her teacher's name is..."  The BEST part of their experience is when Taylor will take one of the many wands we have around our house, move it in a circle and say, "Home..."  like Glinda does at the very end when Dorothy is tapping her heels.  (tho of course Glinda says, "There's no place like home...")  Tay is just so precious!

I've always liked Wizard of Oz, but it wasn't until I read Wicked, and eventually saw it as a musical at the Orpheum Theater, that I could really appreciate the story.  If you haven't seen it, I recommend it.  Even the soundtrack is fantastic.  I'm not a huge musical fan, but listen to "Defying Gravity" once, and I'd be shocked if you didn't fall in love.

Anyway, as I mentioned before, Josh and I switched rooms with Harper and Sophie and MY OH MY was that a project.  I'm walking like an old lady because my back hurts after all the moving/assembling of dressers, etc.  It looks great, tho, in both rooms.  No bunkbeds yet, hopefully they'll be delivered next week.

Exciting news...I'm running Grandma's Half Marathon in June!  I'm pumped!  And already exhausted!  But I'm going to do it!

Alright, I'd better go so I can chat with my hubby before he starts sawing logs on the couch.  And by sawing, I do mean with a chainsaw.  That dude can SNORE!  (Teeheehee, love you babes!)

G'nite!
